The Eastern Cape Horse Society

is affiliated to the South African Equestrian Association and holds the status of a Provincial Body with jurisdiction in the Eastern Cape Region and any additional adjacent areas approved by the South African Equestrian Association. At present this includes the Magistarial Districts of George, Knysna, Uniondale, Oudtshoon and Mossel Bay, in addition to the rest of the Eastern Cape Province.

The prime responsibility of the Eastern Cape Horse Society is to ensure that the policies, regulations and rules of the Federation Equestre Internationale and the South African Equestrian Association are observed at all recognised horse shows within the area of its authority.

The Eastern Cape Horse Society has introduced and will continue to introduce Provincial Rules to provide for local conditions. They are supplementary to and in no way conflict with the International or National Rules and, in cases of dispute, the relevant International or National Rules will apply.
